EXTUNA Production Company was founded in 1964 in Borlänge by Börje Sjölin and Ingemar Olsson. The company manufactured and produced oil burners from the beginning.
Lars Åke Andersson began production of boilers in small scale in 1971. As time went on, demand grew and in 1973 Lars Åke started to sell boilers together with Extuna’s oil burners. In 1974 Lars Åke got an offer to buy Extuna, which he did in 1975 and hence got the name Extuna boilers. After 1980 EXTUNA production moved to its own modern premises in Ingarvets industrial estate in Falun.

  • In 1980 built a new and modern engineering premise on the Ingarvets Industrial estate in Falun.
  • In 1981 started to manufacture their own ceramics.
  • In 1981 started the first tests of ceramic wood boilers.
  • In 1982 installed a trial series of 10 ceramic wood boilers for tasting in private houses.
  • In 1983 started the production of big storage tanks for industrial use.
  • In 1984 was firstly tested and approved by SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden.
  • In 1986 production of oil burners finished.
  • In 1994 purchased machinery for production of stainless steel on a large scale.
  • In 1995 began production of KREMA-cremation chambers for animal carcasses.
  • In 2001 the company was sold to Lars-Åke’s son, Torbjörn Andersson.
  • In 2008 the company was sold to Marit Persson and Peo Persson and changed its name to Extuna Production Co., Ltd
